J.T. Magen builds flagship Mercedes-Benz dealership in Manhattan

Luxury carmaker’s gleaming five-level structure on 11th Avenue features glass-walled showrooms and 72 work bays.

Almost every day I remind our associates how fortunate we are to be working in the best city in the world, for the best brand in the world, with the best colleagues in the business, and in the best facility in America. J.T. Magen played a pivotal role in making the dream a reality by constructing the equivalent of ‘OZ’ for Mercedes-Benz Manhattan – a magical home where both clients and associates from around the globe get to experience the very best automotive retail showroom in the industry firsthand.

— Tom Shanley, general manager, Mercedes-Benz Manhattan

We wanted the design to have force, but to enhance the cars. Look at this place: steel, concrete, glass and metal. I get juiced walking in here. These ceilings are 26 feet high. We go more than 36 feet underground. That video wall can project color after color. My favorite part is the steel and glass; it epitomizes what we wanted to do.

– Scott Spector, project architect, Spector Group, in the New York Daily News
