Leo Martin

Director of Construction

Leo Martin keeps more than 60 major active projects running smoothly at all times for J.T. Magen. As Director of Construction, he manages project manpower and schedules, with an eye to required skill levels, quality control and completion date.

He directs over 100 project managers and supers, and oversees subcontractors, safety, sustainable construction practices, jobsite logistics, problem resolution, permitting and project turnover to the client.

With 25 years of experience in the construction industry, Leo Martin considers himself “a field guy.” He got his start as a carpenter, completing an apprenticeship program with the New York City District Council of Carpenters. He joined J.T. Magen in 2001.

Leo Martin worked on some of the company’s biggest and most notable jobs ranging up to nearly $100 million. They include one of the first Apple flagship stores in the country (Prince Street, Manhattan); the HBO Communications Center that won LEED Gold certification; The W Hotel on a fast-tracked timetable; the residential conversion at 55 Wall Street that includes the Cipriani Club; and Trump’s 502 Park Avenue, a full renovation with two six-story extensions.

Named Director of Construction in 2011, Leo Martin now is involved in the J.T. Magen portfolio of projects across 12 industry sectors in the Northeast Region.
